Where is the best place to buy booster boxes for magic the gathering if i was opening my own magic store? I was interested in opening a magic the gathering singles store perhaps on ebay to start. but i was wondering if there was a place i could buy booster boxes besides from the various sites online or on ebay itself? does anyone own a store, or know somebody who does? where do they buy their boxes and how many do they have to order at a time? any information would help, thank you. If you buy a case (6 boxes) you will get a break on the price (maybe to 78-76 each box). As alwasy the more you buy, the best price you will get. The best time to buy is right before the release, and if you pre-order, you might get even a better deal. This is as far as you can go, if its something casual. If you want to be really serious about this, get a business licence (find out at your local town hall). With your business licence you can contact Wizards of the Coast customer service and they will disclose the list of wholesalers near your area. Buying from the wholesale dealer will get you the best prices but usually they have minimums on orders and the cost to start might be 5 to 6 times higher than just pre-ordering the boosters from a big store. Ebay is great to sell as a retailer, and great for buyers, but not really useful to fuel your business with cards. Every once in a while you find great deals (specially on older cards) but it is not often. I would advice to consider opening an ebay store, and offering multiple auction items to create traffic to your store. Also become familiar with the MTG yearly calendar, because that will tell you what format is on season and you can buy and sell accordingly to maximize your profits. Good Luck, if you have any other questions, contact me thru the yahoo answers page. All Answers Answer 1 there are various companies you can open accounts with and buy products from, such as cases of the boxes. i believe the cases come with 9 boxes a piece, but I could be wrong. most walk-in stores retail boxes at $100 around here, whereas you can buy them for $80ish online (trollandtoad.com seems to be good with things like that) That's probably your best bet. In order to open up an account with the warehouse sellers as I mentioned at the beginning, I believe you have to have an actual store location and be a licensed MtG seller. I could be wrong, I've never looked into this stuff for myself. 2008-01-24 01:05:06 Answer 2 Metro City Comics! I will be more than happy to help you get started.
